Description
Duties
Position operates a variety of motor vehicle including large bowser trucks in the transport and delivery of water/diesel fuel and large freight-hauling trucks for supplies.
Incumbent assists Trades helpers/Warehousemen if assigned, in the filling of water/fuel tanks, or loading/unloading cargo.
Incumbent works under the direct supervision and guidance of the FSN-08 Maintenance Supervisor.
Education
Completion of Secondary School
Evaluations: LANGUAGE:
English Level III (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing is required (This may be tested).
Kiswahili Level III (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing is required.
More Details on Experience
Two years of experience driving heavy transport trucks and/or water trucks required and must have a valid Kenyan driver’s license Class B, C, E.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
The job holder must have good knowledge of Kenyan traffic laws and be familiar with traffic patterns in and around Nairobi.
The job holder must be knowledgeable on vehicles operations and maintenance procedures, and
The job holder must have knowledge of radio operational procedures for responding to vehicles emergencies.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to communicate using radio/cell phone.
Must be able to prime a water pump after delivery and filling of water tank.
Must be able to lift heavy materials for short periods of time while loading and unloading.
Must have basic knowledge of MS Word and Outlook, and able to write e-mails.
Must be able to work in various adverse conditions such as tight or enclosed spaces, on ladders at various heights, and in temperature extremes, indoors or outdoors to complete work assignments.
