Summary
Reporting to: Operations Director
Job Purpose: Responsible for overseeing and managing company's end to end Supply Chain function to maximize process efficiency while improving and sustaining company OTIF.
Description
Primary Responsibilities
Production Planning;
- Evaluate current production processes and recommend improvements where necessary to Production planning team.
- Oversee production planning and management activities within the organization.
- Develop production plan, budget and timelines according to production specifications.
- Optimize operational resources while executing cost reductions and inventory controls.
- Assist in new product development and enhancements.
- Determine equipment, materials and manpower required to complete production.
- Closely work with production team to monitor production and its related costs
Warehouse Management;
- Overall Management of Warehouse Operations, including Stocks Management, both Raw Material, Consumable and Finished Goods Stores
- Planning and maintaining optimum inventory levels to reduce capital deployed.
- Execute demand flow verification processes, engage in short- and long-term planning and conduct inventory analysis for warehouse utilization and manufacturing coordination.
- Effective team and cost management.
Procurement and Logistics;
- Oversee and supervise all Procurement activities.
- Forecast demand to ensure availability of raw materials and consumables at all times.
- Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors and freight forwarders
- Develop material costs forecasts
- Maintain key working relationships for raw materials, supplies and capital equipment.
- Assess, manage and mitigate risks; perform cost and scenario analysis; identify cost saving opportunities.
- Continuously track material movement with freight forwarders to ensure that sourcing lead time is well controlled.
Dispatch;
- Management of Dispatch third party logistics service provider
- Maintaining the OTIF at 90% + at all times
- Supervise invoicing activities to ensure no losses at the point of sale.
- Optimization of Truck TAT for all deliveries happening within the premises.
- Monitor overall fuel consumption by implementing such measures that will adequately control fuel consumption for both fleet and other company auxiliary.
People Management
- Manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.
- Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.
- Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required.
- Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behavior expected of them.
- Ensure the delivery of the People Strategy within area of accountability Manage and lead the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels.
- Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems.
- Review, implement and update company records e.g. training matrices, performance reviews, risk assessments.
- Communicate KPIs from the strategic annual plan so that each employee is aware
Education
- A bachelor’s degree in either Purchasing & Supplies, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering or any other equivalent.
- Registered member of CPSPK
More Details on Experience
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a Supply Chain Management role.
- Previous work experience in Manufacturing and preferably Welding, Fabrication or Furniture Industry is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of ISO, KAIZEN and 6 Sigma is equally an added advantage.
- Computer Knowledge is a requirement.
