Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Solar Asset Manager. The candidate will run the asset management department and help with logistics support while reporting directly to the Technical Lead. The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical/mechanical engineering with hands-on experience in solar and battery systems installations, operations and maintenance. The candidate should also possess knowledge of various solar equipment manufacturers and hands-on experience with the importation and logistics of solar products within East Africa.

Hours: Full time

Description

1. Operations & Maintenance:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and running of our solar plants, ensuring optimal
  • Implement the company's Operations and Maintenance (O&M)
  • Maintain relations with our O&M partners for efficient O&M
  • Manage & report on O&M budget

2. Asset Management

  • Develop and maintain an effective asset management strategy for solar
  • Conduct regular inspections and assessments of our solar assets to identify potential issues and implement corrective

3. Pv Plants production Reports:

  • Generate monthly production reports for the solar plants, providing insights into performance
  • Analyze the production data and propose improvements to enhance overall plant

4. Equipment Manufacturers Engagement:

  • Maintain existing and build new relationships with various solar equipment
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements in the solar

5. Importation and Logistics:

  • Help in managing the importation process of solar equipment, ensuring timely
  • Collaborate with logistics partners to streamline the transportation and delivery of the solar equipment to sites

6. Any other role as assigned by the line manager. 

Education

  • Degree or diploma in electrical/mechanical

More Details on Experience

  • At least 3 years of practical experience in solar and battery systems installation and operations in the C&I solar space in East
  • At least 2 years of operations and asset management experience in the C&I solar
  • Hands-on experience with various solar and battery equipment
  • Familiarity with the importation and logistics processes of solar equipment products in East

More Details on Skills

  • Additional certifications in renewable energy or related
  • Strong project management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal
  • Willingness to travel in remote site locations across East
