Summary

Our client, a leading law firm in Kenya is looking to hire a senior associate who will be working in their conveyance and commercial department. The suitable candidate should have strong and demonstrable experience in commercial law. 

Description

  • Accepting instructions from clients and partners.
  • Developing a work schedule at the beginning of every new project and monitoring the same until the deliverables are accomplished.
  • Ensuring all new jobs are assigned the correct job reference at commencement.
  • Ensuring correspondence with advocates via emails, telephone, online meetings and letters.
  • Planning and holding project progress meetings with clients.
  • Drafting conveyance, commercial, probate and intellectual property transaction instruments.
  • Researching and preparing legal and/or advisory opinions.
  • Attending court.
  • Allocating assignments to the operations department and following up on progress and delivery of the same.
  • Reviewing documents using a checklist.
  • Ensuring accurate and prompt issuance of bills to the clients.
  • Following up on pending bills in a file via telephone calls, emails and letters.
  • Any other duty as may be assigned by partners from time to time.

Education

  • Bachelor of Law (LLB).

More Details on Experience

  • Minimum Six (6) to seven (7) years post-admission experience.
  • Must possess valuable experience and deep knowledge of conveyance and strong experience in commercial law.
