Sales Manager – Kiss 100
Reporting to the Group Direct Sales Manager, the incumbent will be tasked with hard selling and negotiation of airtime including sponsorships and promotions from direct clients. Conducting market surveys, managing the sales executives, analyse periodically media advertising expenditures, growing, developing and mentoring the sales team, promote the organization’s brands and generate periodic reports on actual and projected sales.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Ensure a strategic approach to hard selling and negotiation of airtime including sponsorships and promotions from direct clients.
- Coordinate activities with the Group Direct Sales Manager and other managers and achieve teamwork in the department and enhance the cross functional potential
- Ensure that customers Relationship Management System is update daily on all sales activities, meetings and customer contacts
- Train, mentor, coach and walk closely with each Sales Executives ensuring that their conduct, their productivity and all aspects of their image and conduct align to our house style.
- Oversee and supervise an effective client service through use of the company’s calling cycle and to continuously introduce the latest sales strategies to add value to clients’ businesses and ensure repeat business and client loyalty.
- Conduct monthly analysis of media advertising expenditure to help determine which clients your team can critically focus on to maximize sales volume and growth.
- Embrace a style of keeping eyes open and ears on the ground for emerging trends in businesses and promptly translate this into advertising ahead of competitors.
- Enforce the company’s credit policy with no debt beyond the 30-day credit period.
- Ensure effective debt collection.
- Provide excellent major account management and in line with this, develop first point contact between the stations and direct clients and use excellent interpersonal skills to keep the business relationships strong.
- Keep the team focused on their goals, allay any doubts about the brand and build internal loyalty for assigned brands and ensure that monthly targets are met and surpassed.
- Build a formidable and sought after sales team for all brands.
- Acquire new business opportunities to achieve set targets and ensure business growth.
- Conduct market intelligence and guide the marketing team on opportunities on the ground and how best to take advantage of them.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports and any other reports as agreed with the Group Direct Sales Manager, GCOO and the CEO, to provide timely guidance on any intervention and thereafter follow up on all agreed action and update the next report.
- Conduct price surveys, customer satisfaction surveys and other market research in liaison with the R&D Department.
- Work closely with the Marketing Department to market the brands and position them as per the Company’s strategy.
- Evaluate each of your team member on a weekly basis and document all feedback, conduct performance appraisals as per the required deadlines and make decisions that will motivate well performing staff as well as decisions that will deter poor performance and laxity as poor performers are promptly and decisively transitioned out of the organization.
- Hold honest conversations with each staff about their performance on a weekly basis and document.
- Reconcile customers’ accounts on monthly basis and work with Accounts to ensure monthly statements are signed off and dispatched to all credit clients.
- Liaise with HR to conduct annual training needs analysis and implementation of the training calendar for the Sales team.
- Handle administrative issues within the department.
Education
- Degree in Sales, Marketing, Public Relations
- CIM, MSK, PRSK membership will be an added advantage
More Details on Experience
- 3 years’ experience in a similar position. Experience in the media industry will be an added advantage
- Proven track record of people management
- Strong Proposal writing skills, business acumen & results oriented attitude.
- Strong communication skills (oral & written).
- Strong interpersonal skills.
