Lighting | Sound | Rigging | LED Screens | Power

We are looking for a hands-on Production Tech Support Crew member to prepare, install, operate and strike technical equipment across live events, concerts, conferences and broadcast productions. The role spans five interconnected areas lighting, sound, rigging, LED screens and power distribution and you will move between them depending on the demands of each show.

This is physical, deadline driven work carried out in a live environment where there is no second take. Loads arrive on a schedule, doors open at a fixed time, and the system must be safe, tested and working before the audience arrives. We are looking for someone who is technically capable, calm under pressure, and rigorous about safety.

Experience across all five disciplines is welcome but not essential. Strong grounding in two or three, combined with genuine willingness to learn the others on the job, is a realistic and acceptable profile.

Lighting

Rig, cable, patch and focus conventional and moving-head fixtures to the lighting plot. Terminate and test DMX runs, address fixtures, and assist the operator during programming and show calls. Diagnose faults in fixtures, data lines and dimming, and maintain the lighting inventory between jobs.

Sound

Deploy and cable PA systems, including line array hangs and ground-stacked configurations, along with monitors, microphones, DI boxes and stage boxes. Assist with system tuning, line checks and soundcheck, troubleshoot signal path and noise problems, and manage cable runs so they are safe and tidy.

Rigging

Assist with ground support structures, truss assembly, motors, hoists and associated hardware, working strictly to the approved rigging plot and load calculations. Carry out pre use inspection of slings, shackles, steels and safety bonds, and follow all exclusion-zone and load-in protocols. All overhead rigging is performed under the direction of a qualified rigger.

LED Screens

Build and dismantle LED panels, cabinets and support structures. Manage data and power looms between panels, assist with processor configuration, mapping and pixel pitch alignment, and identify and replace faulty panels, cards and cables during build and show.

Power Distribution

Run and terminate distribution from generators or mains supply, including three-phase distro, cable ramps and protection. Balance loads across phases, verify earthing and RCD protection, and monitor consumption during the show. All electrical work must be carried out within the limits of your certification and in line with local regulations.

General Production Support

Load and unload trucks, prepare and check kit before departure, and complete equipment checklists. Carry out strike and pack-down, returning all equipment tested, coiled and logged. Report damage, losses and near-misses promptly, and support other departments as directed by the Technical Director.

Experience	2+ years in live events, touring, broadcast or AV production
Technical breadth	Working competence in at least two of the five disciplines, with a practical understanding of the rest
Systems	Confident with cabling, connector types, signal flow and fault diagnosis under time pressure
Safety	Sound knowledge of safe working practice, manual handling, working at height and electrical safety
Physical	Able to lift heavy equipment, work at height, and remain effective across long shifts
Availability	Flexible for early starts, overnight builds, weekends and out-of-town travel

Reliable, punctual, communicative, and professional in front of clients and artists

Working Conditions

Work takes place indoors and outdoors in variable weather, at height, and around heavy equipment and live electrical systems. Shifts are irregular and frequently extend beyond standard hours during build and show days. Personal protective equipment is provided and its use is mandatory where specified.
