A leading importer and distributor of quality laboratory analysers, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sales Representative to join our dynamic laboratory division. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to lead a high performing sales force and drive the growth of the company’s laboratory division.
Position: Laboratory Division Sales Representative
Location: Eldoret/ Rift Valley Region, Kenya
Department: Laboratory diagnostics, Analysers, RDT’s and POC

Description

1. Product Knowledge: He/she must have a thorough understanding of the medical products being sold by Highridge Pharmaceuticals Ltd Lab Division which include but not limited to Point of Care (POC), Rapid test kits, laboratory equipment and consumables. This includes
knowledge of the product's features, benefits, and how it compares to competitors.
2. Sales Targets: Meeting sales targets and revenue goals set by Lab Manager and Managing Director is a key responsibility.
3. Customer Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with healthcare professionals, laboratory personnel, procurement managers etc. is crucial. This includes regular visits to healthcare facilities and presenting product information to potential customers.
4. Market Research: Sales representatives need to stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs. Conducting market research helps them identify new opportunities and potential customers.
5. Product Demonstrations: Conducting product demonstrations and training sessions for laboratory staff is essential to ensure proper use of the product.
6. Territory Management: Plan his/her travel and appointments efficiently to cover territory effectively.
7. Sales Reporting: Keeping track of sales activities, reporting on sales performance, and providing feedback to the lab division manager is important for performance evaluation.
8. Customer Support: Assisting customers with any issues or questions related to the product is part of the role. This includes providing technical support and resolving customer complaints.
9. Compliance: Medical sales representatives must adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry guidelines related to their products and sales activities.
11. Credit control and debt management: keep a keen eye and tab on all customer accounts ensuring that all payments are collected on a timely manner as per the contract/agreement and payment terms
11. Continuous Learning: Keeping up-to-date with medical advancements, industry trends, and product developments is crucial for success in this role.
12. Collaboration: Working closely with the marketing team, product managers, and other departments within the company is important to align sales efforts with overall business goals.
13. Time Management: Effective time management skills are necessary to juggle multiple tasks, appointments, and administrative responsibilities.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field.

More Details on Experience

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in laboratory sales role within the in-Vitro Diagnostics or biotechnology industry.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, methodologies, applications and instrumentation commonly used in Laboratories.
  • Preferably registered with KMLTTB (Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board) and have excellent grasp of the local regulations of Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) and KMLTTB
