ABOUT BABA NYUMBANI
Baba Nyumbani is a faith-rooted micro-village of comprehensive care for orphaned and vulnerable children in Kenya. We exist because every child deserves safety, nourishment, love and a future. For over two decades, we have delivered on that belief through housing, health care, nutrition, education and life-skills programming. Equipping children not just to survive, but to flourish.
Our model is clear: from crisis to capability. We do not create dependency. We build self-sustaining, dignified futures. Approximately 3.6 million children in Kenya are classified as orphaned or vulnerable. Baba Nyumbani exists to be a faithful, consistent and effective answer to that reality.
ROLE SUMMARY
This is not a standard accounting role. Baba Nyumbani is seeking a Finance & Compliance Manager who operates with the precision of a financial professional and the perspective of a strategic partner. You will be the steward of our financial integrity, ensuring that every shilling received, allocated and reported reflects the trust placed in us by donors, partners and the children we serve.
You will lead our compliance posture, anticipate regulatory and fiscal risk before it materializes, and provide leadership with the clarity and confidence to make sound decisions. This role demands technical excellence, unwavering confidentiality and the maturity to operate with significant autonomy. If you believe that financial stewardship is an act of mission, we want to hear from you.

- Serve as the primary liaison during internal and external audits; maintain audit-ready documentation continuously
- Proactively identify financial risks and compliance vulnerabilities; present leadership with clear, actionable recommendations
- Build financial literacy across the organization — equipping non-finance staff with the budget awareness needed for responsible program delivery
- Safeguard all financial, compensation, and donor information with the highest standard of professional confidentiality
Education
- CPA (K) designation issued through KASNEB, or equivalent ACCA certification in good standing
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline
More Details on Experience
- Minimum five years of progressive financial management experience, including at least two years in a senior or supervisory capacity

- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks) and advanced Microsoft Excel capability
- Proven experience managing budgets, delivering financial reports, and preparing for or managing audit processes
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into clear recommendations for non-finance leadership
- Exceptional attention to detail and the organizational discipline to manage competing deadlines without sacrificing accuracy
