Key Responsibilities
- Financial Planning and Budgeting
- Develop and manage the agency's annual budget.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial outcomes.
- Accounting and Financial Reporting
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.
- Cash Flow and Risk Management
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure liquidity for operational needs.
- Implement controls to mitigate financial risks, including fraud prevention.
- Manage foreign exchange transactions and hedging strategies where applicable.
- Banking Relationships
- Maintain and nurture strong relationships with banking partners to optimize financial services.
- Negotiate favorable terms for loans, credit lines, and other financial products.
- Ensure smooth and efficient bank reconciliations and transaction management.
- Client Payment Agreements and Debt Collection
- Develop and manage client payment agreements, ensuring compliance with terms.
- Oversee the debt collection process to minimize outstanding receivables.
- Implement strategies to enhance timely payments and reduce bad debts.
- Managing Supplier Payments
- Ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers while maintaining positive relationships.
- Monitor supplier accounts and resolve payment discrepancies promptly.
- Negotiate favorable payment terms with suppliers to optimize cash flow.
- Compliance and Audit
- Ensure adherence to all financial regulations, including travel industry standards.
- Coordinate with external auditors and implement audit recommendations.
- Maintain records and documentation for financial transparency.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Supervise and mentor the finance team to achieve departmental goals.
- Collaborate with other departments to align financial strategies with business objectives.
- Act as a strategic advisor to senior management on financial matters.
- Travel Agency-Specific Financial Operations
- Manage Global Distribution System (GDS) reconciliations (e.g., Amadeus, Travelport).
- Oversee commission payments and ensure accuracy in supplier settlements.
- Optimize financial
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, or CFA certification preferred).
