Introduction:
Our vision is a world where people and viable populations of lions coexist and thrive. We aim to achieve this by creating successful lion landscapes- landscapes that support viable populations of wild lions and other pinnacle carnivore species. To do this it must also support healthy wild prey populations, healthy habitat, and benefit local people. Our lion conservation and research work focuses on how local communities, their livestock and lions can co-exist.

Our three-pronged approach works to stop the loss of lions and other wildlife, reduce the cost of wildlife presence for local people, and unlock the value of living with wildlife.

Lion Landscapes, as it is today, was created through a merger between the Ruaha Carnivore Project in Tanzania, with projects in the Ruaha and Selous-Nyerere landscapes, and the original Lion Landscapes, with projects in Kenya and Zambia. Collectively, these projects have over 20
years experience of successfully addressing key conservation challenges, with a particular focus on reducing human-carnivore conflict and creating innovative approaches to incentivise human-carnivore coexistence.

Role Outline:
Your role would include but not be limited to:

Social Media

• Community management: Help design and create content for social media campaigns for Lion Landscapes specific to the target audience of each platform,
• Prepare and publish posts on all social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn)
• Increase followers on all accounts

Donor management & fundraising

• Answer questions online from potential donors and supporters.
• Support the data entry and management of the donor database for Lion Landscapes (Salesforce)
• Help design and execute new online donation campaigns
• Support online donation platforms (Donorbox and others)

Website

• Assist and support in content management of Lion Landscapes website (wix.com).
• Provide assistance and support in the preparation of blogposts for Lion Landscapes
• Manage our Google Adwords campaigns
• Help create and send out the Quarterly newsletter Brand management
• Internal brand management - creation of templates for proposals and other documents
• Support the development of subbrands e.g. Lion Friendly Livestock and the communications campaigns to its target audiences
• Help build and develop the digital marketing strategy for Lion Landscapes

Analytics

• Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of Lion Landscapes’ communications campaigns.
• Research keywords for Lion Landscapes to optimise content
• Fully versed and familiar with all social media platforms but in particular Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn
• Knowledge of digital platforms and website management
• Knowledge of online donor platforms and donor payments systems is an advantage
• Able to correspond in English of the highest quality with all stakeholders - experience with conservation language would be highly advantageous
• A good understanding of UK and USA donor markets would be an advantage
• Understanding of working on google platforms and Base Camp would be an advantage
• Based in Kenya and able to travel to projects to collect content for all platforms
• Enthusiastic, willing to learn, creative.
