Summary
The position ensures the accounts and reporting function is compliant with financial policies, procedures and control Systems in order to support sound decision-making based on accurate financial Information.
Description
- Prepare monthly statements by collecting data, analysing and investigating variances, summarizing data, information, and trends;
- Facilitate the financial reporting by preparing quarterly and annual statements;
- Account for all the accounts payables (AP) for the scheme to enhance the efficient running of processes;
- Account for all the accounts receivables that the scheme expects to collect in a specific duration and follow up with the specific stakeholders;
- Comply with tax filing requirements by studying regulations;
- Ensure maintenance of accurate fixed assets register;
- Ensure proper and accurate processing of payments as per approved policies and procedures for the Scheme;
- Ensure safe custody of cash (including petty cash management), financial records and other accountable documents;
- Ensure effective control and approval petty cash transactions;
- Co-ordinate the Scheme’s audits and participating in responding to audit queries;
- Ensure completion and submission of statutory returns as per the law;
- Maintain internal financial controls and ensuring effective accounting system for the sections operation efficiency;
- Maintain efficient methods for accounting and financial record-keeping and management of implementation;
- Identify methods for cost-reduction and efficiency improvements;
- Disclose or report financial activities to government authorities as necessary;
- Ensure all bank reconciliations are prepared on monthly basis;
- Ensure timely collection of Debts as per approved procedures for the Scheme;
- Approve expenditures as per policies and procedures;
- Ensure Preparation of cash flow statement as required;
- Approve journal adjustment as required;
- Ensure safe custody of accountable documents and information; and
- Facilitate the management of overseas pensioners, exiles and keep the pension calculation up to date.
Education
Bachelor of Art’s Degree in Economics, Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting or Business Administration with Finance Option) or any other Business-related Degree from a recognized university.
Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPAK), ACCA, CIFA, CFA or a KISM Diploma and a member of ICPAK, ICIFA or KISM.
